Registration with the Vetting and Barring Scheme (VBS) will be halted to allow the government to remodel the scheme back to proportionate, common sense levels, it was announced today, please follow the link below. A full public inquiry into the appalling failings in patient care at Mid-Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust was announced today by Health Secretary Andrew Lansley. Many of these failings were forms of abuse experienced by patients and witnessed by family carers. Disability Harassment Inquiry - Launch of Call for Evidence
On 14 June 2010, the Commission formally launched an Inquiry into
disability-related harassment.
Through this Inquiry, the Commission will look at the actions of public
authorities and public transport providers to eliminate disability-related harassment and its causes.
